Renowned impasto oil painter will join the 2010 World Tulip Summit!

Alfred Currier is noted for his use of brilliant color and texture, as well as his focus on the figure. His vibrant impasto oil paintings often depict his travels as well as the Skagit Valley region where he lives.

2010 World Tulip Summit

Presented by Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and the Northwest Agriculture Business Center

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in collaboration with the Northwest Agriculture Business Center and Washington State University will host the World Tulip Summit in 2010. The 2010 Summit will be the first held in the United States since its reestablishment. This three day event will prominently display the rich agriculture diversity of Washington State with the focus on the state flower industry. The program will include topics such as the latest developments in the science and technology of tulips, Pacific Northwest history, gardening in the Pacific Northwest, and the tulip migration to Western Washington.

Summit delegates will include Tulip Festival goers and representatives from around the world and within the United States. They will be encouraged to travel to the Skagit Valley to participate in this rare event along with the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Cultural tours and receptions will be part of the summit which will give the visitors a chance to fully understand our state and farming heritage.
